  • HOW CAN I REPORT SUSPECTED ANIMAL ABUSE OR NEGLECT TO YOUR ORGANIZATION?

    We encourage you to first report signs of animal abuse or neglect to the animal control and/or sheriff’s department in your municipal jurisdiction. As a secondary action, you can report animal abuse and neglect to Animal Rescue & Relief, Inc. and we will work on your behalf to ensure that your report gets addressed by the appropriate agency. Please note that your report of animal abuse and neglect is always treated with confidentiality in accordance with our strict confidentiality policies. Animal Rescue & Relief, Inc. performs three types of support services; animal disaster response, animal cruelty investigations, and animal rehabilitation. ARR Executive Director, Michelle Reid, is a certified and trained cruelty investigator that is typically contracted out by local, state or federal agencies to assist in large scale animal cruelty and forensic investigations.

     

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SERVICES YOUR ORGANIZATION OFFERS AND THE SERVICES OF ANIMAL CONTROL?

    Animal Rescue & Relief, Inc. operates from a new and innovative model that is designed to (1) deploy animal disaster search and rescue work; (2) provide critical support services during large-scale animal cruelty seizes; and (3) rehabilitate and re-home abused and neglected animals from those seizes.

     

  • DO YOU ACCEPT OWNER SURRENDERS

    No, we do not accept owner surrenders. Our re-homing services are specifically reserved for animals acquired from our abuse and neglect cases.

    Our strict policy on this helps us stay focused on our mission and ensures that the animals in our care get the best rehabilitative services possible.

     

  • WHERE IS YOUR SHELTER LOCATED

    We do not own or operate a traditional animal shelter. The rehabilitation of our animals occurs by trained care givers at medical facilities and in the homes of our experienced foster families.

    However, don’t get discouraged! You can view our animals up for adoption on our adoption page. If you are interested in an animal and have filled out an application, an interaction with that animal can be scheduled.

     

  • DO YOU HAVE A NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS

    Yes! We utilize volunteers in a number of important roles throughout the year. You can use our “contact us” form to provide additional details on your interests, skills, and qualifications. Volunteers can serve in a number of capacities ranging from volunteering to help with events and fundraisers to volunteering to help with services provided to the animals in our care.

    Please note, some volunteer roles require specific training or expertise, however others do not. If you are veterinarian or veterinarian technician, please note this information in your answers on our form.

     

  • WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT YOUR CRUELTY WORK AND/OR TO SPONSOR AN ANIMAL?

    There are multiple ways to make meaningful financial contributions to support the work of our organization. You can designate a gift in support of a particular campaign, service, animal, or expense, or you can make an undesignated contribution and we will apply your contribution where it is needed most. Both designated and undesignated contributions are welcomed and encouraged.

    It is also common for people to financially sponsor an animal, which means your contribution supports the expenses associated with the rehabilitation and re-homing of that particular animal. We are more than happy to have our staff talk to you directly about your options for giving.

     

  • WHAT ARE YOUR ADOPTION FEES AND WHAT DO THEY COVER?

    Our adoption fees vary by species and case. Our standard dog adoption fee is $375. Inclusive in the fee are the costs of spaying or neutering the animal, vaccinations, deworming, testing for heartworms and tick borne diseases, heartworm prevention, and microchip implant and registration. A home visit, vet check and adoption contract are also required along with the fee and are a part of our adoption process.

    Please note that our adoption fees allow us to recoup only a portion of the expenses associated with our animals. Typically the cost to rehabilitate and medically treat our animals greatly exceeds the amount of our adoption fee.
